Peripheral Arterial Disease

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is an obstruction of the blood flow in the peripheral arteries, most commonly in the arteries of the pelvis and legs. It can result from the slow accumulation of plaque over time (a process known as atherosclerosis) or the sudden formation of a blood clot which leads to arterial narrowing or blockage of a vessel. PAD is a growing public health issue affecting over 12 million Americans. Left untreated, it can lead to chronic pain, significant limitations in the ability to walk or move, decreased quality of life, limb loss and death in severe cases. A newer, minimally invasive treatment, provides an alternative to traditional surgery and help achieve optimal results for patients with Vascular diseases.
